## Upright

Keywords: self, humanity, community

### General

You see yourself and the people around you more clearly than usual. Your social ties are a source of strength — within a community you can achieve what you could not alone. Your rational mind is working in balance with your feelings.

### Love

A friendship may turn into love, or the friendship at the base of your relationship may grow stronger. Those around you see you as a well-matched, respected couple. This bond is rising on the solid ground of friendship.

### Career

You have a good chance of standing out on a project that needs teamwork — your skill with people is being noticed. Your rational, balanced decisions are steering both you and those around you the right way.

## Reversed

Keywords: isolation, selfishness, false friendship

### General

You may feel cut off from those around you — either you are keeping your distance, or others are drifting away. You may realise some 'friendships' are only skin-deep. Being honest with yourself is the first step to breaking this isolation.

### Love

One of you may be acting too selfishly; even together, you feel a quiet loneliness. Naming the imbalance is the first condition for putting it right.

### Career

You may feel left out at work, or doubt a colleague's sincerity. A selfish decision may be hurting the team. Transparency and honest communication will ease the tension.

## Practical Tip

Remembered as the rune of agreements and alliances; holding it in mind before signing a contract is said to help carry an intention of fair cooperation.

## Rune Poem

In the Old English poem a person is dear to their kin, yet every person returns one day to the earth.

## History and Myth

Speaks of the human being, of human community, and of knowing oneself.

## Inner Life

Knowing yourself; accepting the limits of being human.

## Shadow Side

Losing yourself in the crowd.

## Harmony and Tension (modern interpretation)

Builds harmony with Ehwaz; can grow lonely in the crisis of Hagalaz.

## In Talismans (modern interpretation)
